The Las Vegas Strip located in the county of Clark, Nevada is a stretch of South Las Vegas Boulevard and is popular for its high concentration of casinos and resort hotels. The Las Vegas Strip has been designated as an All-American Road has an estimated length of 4.2 miles and is considered a scenic route at night. A huge number of the largest hotels are found on the Las Vegas Strip since 14 of the 25 largest hotels in the world are located on the Strip.

Flamingo Las Vegas

The Flamingo Las Vegas is the oldest hotel and casino still in operation found on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada. The property is a 77,000 square foot casino together with 3,626 hotel rooms. The site has a 15-acre architectural theme of the Streamline Moderne and Art Deco, South Beach Miami style, including a garden courtyard that houses a wildlife habitat that features flamingo. The Flamingo which was officially opened on December 26th, 1946 having consumed $6 million in construction costs. The hotel was later sold for $10.5 million in 1960 to a group including Daniel Lifter, Samuel Cohen, and Morris Lansburgh who were residents of Miami and had ties to organized crime. The hotel was later resold to Kirk Kerkorian and the Hilton Corporation.

Sahara

The Sahara Hotel and Casino owned by the Stockbridge Real Estate is located on the Las Vegas Strip in Winchester, Nevada. The hotel officially opened on October 7th, 1952 and featured 1,600 rooms with an 85,000 square foot gaming space. Ownership of the property passed through several hands up until the hotel was closed down on May 16th, 2011 and officially closed on September 4th, 2011. Nazarian announced the conversion of the hotel to Sahara Las Vegas on February 14th, 2013 which would cost $415 million. On August 23rd, 2014 the hotel was reopened.

Tropicana

The Tropicana Las Vegas is the third oldest hotel located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The hotel is a franchise of Hilton's DoubleTree chain and is owned and operated by Penn National Gaming. The hotel features 1,467 rooms, 72,000 square foot exhibit and convention space and a 50,000 square foot. The Tropicana location is always busy since it houses the most hotel rooms of any intersection in the world. The Tropicana and its surrounding casinos are linked by overhead brigades for pedestrians since they are not allowed to cross at street level.

Flamingo Capri Motel

The Flamingo Capri Motel is the fourth oldest hotel located on the Las Vegas Strip opened in 1959. The $2 million property was owned by Bill Capri and George. E Goldberg. The motel was constructed north of the Flamingo Hotel and Casino where Capri was a former employee. Construction of the motel began in May 1959. The motel went through several owners, and by 1976 it was operated as part of the Best Western chain of hotels. Following a series of name changes and owners, the motel was renamed The Linq Hotel and Casino as of October 30th, 2014 following a $223 million renovation. Some of the signature attractions include High Roller, The Linq Promenade, The Auto Collections and O'Sheas Casino. Currently, the hotel is owned by Ceasars Entertainment Corporation, and it features 2,640 rooms, 118,000 square foot gaming space. The motel's previous names include; the Imperial Palace and The Quad Resort and Casino.

There are many attractions on the Vegas strip, and by 2000, the Bali Hai Golf Club was opened and several others in subsequent years. There are also amusement parks and rides like the Big Shot, Sky Jump Las Vegas. Within the strip is the Bonanza Gift Shop which is claimed to be the largest gift shop in the world covering 40,000 square feet of shopping space.
